Ms. Tracey Freyre

Ms. Tracey FreyreOriginally from New York, Tracey Freyre has been a teacher of English and English Language Development for the past nine years, including two years of teaching abroad.

After earning a B.A. in English literature from the University of Virginia, Tracey moved to Florida to teach middle school language arts at Tampa Preparatory School and spent a year teaching English to both high school students and adults in Chile.  She earned her M.A. in Education from the University of California at Berkeley, and currently teaches 7th and 8th grade English in a bilingual program at Cesar Chavez Middle School in Hayward, California.  Last year, she was selected as a Fulbright recipient and spent the year teaching in Bogota, Colombia.  In addition to teaching adolescents, Tracey has also been teaching teachers for the past few years through a course that she co-teaches in Hayward focusing on the methodology of teaching English language learners in content area classes.

Tracey is passionate about teaching, traveling, bilingualism, and learning both in the classroom and through life experiences. When she’s not working, you can find her running, swimming, hiking, or reading.
