Ms. Sara Marek
Sara Sabraw Marek, a Fremont native, is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in Political Science. Mrs. Marek established herself as a writer during her first year at SMU when she was one of two freshmen published in the campus magazine, The Criterion.
Upon obtaining her California State Teaching Credential, Mrs. Marek taught 7th Grade English at Centerville Junior High School in Fremont where she was voted favorite teacher two years in a row. Mrs. Marek was an advisor for Centerville’s Conflict Mediation Program, where she helped students learn effective ways to communicate in order to solve their problems. Mrs. Marek’s care and concern for each student’s intellectual, emotional, and social development help all of her students reach their potential.
Mrs. Marek continues to teach 7/8 writing at Mill Creek Academy, an assignment she has enjoyed for ten years. Mrs. Marek takes pride in watching her students improve their writing over the twelve-week seminar. She believes that in order to get the most out of her students, the classroom environment needs to be not only educational, but also positive and engaging.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Marek serves as a Director at Mill Creek Academy. She feels fortunate to have honed her teaching and business skills under the watchful eye of her mother, Cheri Sabraw, founder of the Mill Creek Academy.
In her free time, Mrs. Marek enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and two sons.
