Ms. Kubina, a native to the Bay Area, attended schools in Newark Unified and upon her high school graduation, decided to stay close to home where she earned a Bachelors of Arts at Cal State Hayward in Liberal Studies and Creative Writing. Having a passion for teaching and working with young students, she knew early on that teaching would be a passion should could not deny. While pursuing her undergraduate career, she was involved in student government and a
representative for the Department of Education.
Fueled with her excitement for the field of Education, she continued her studies and
earned a Masters of Science with Distinction in Instructional Leadership. With over 18 years of teaching experience, Ms. Kubina has taught at all grade levels from 2nd grade – 8th grade. Most of her career has been with Fremont Unified where she has had the pleasure of teaching at Millard Elementary and Horner Junior High. Acting as the English department chair as well as taking on the advisor for the Journalism program at her school, Ms. Kubina is dedicated to helping students understand the craft of writing. Most recently, she was a former assistant principal at one of the local Fremont high schools.
When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her
ten year old Labradoodle, Roxy. Going to the theater
and the beach are two of her favorite pastimes while indulging in Thai food.
Ms. Kubina is delighted to work with the students at Mill Creek Academy!
