Ms. Eva Shin
Ms. Shin, native to Southern California, completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. Upon her graduation, Ms. Shin who had not only had a deep interest for the English language, but also a passion for dance, accepted an opportunity to move overseas to Beijing, China. There, she spent a couple of years immersed in the Chinese culture, engaging in a new way of life while also spending her time learning the language and teaching dance.
After returning back to the States, she pursued a career in advertising, but still felt a vested interest in her love for teaching, specifically, literature. She continued her Education and received her secondary teaching credential in English from California State Polytechnic, Pomona. Soon after, she continued her studies where she earned a Master’s degree in Education from Whittier College.
Since 2007, she has taught high school English at all academic levels as well advising the Associated Student Body at a premier high school in Southern California. Ms, Shin believes that effective communication is essential in life and hopes to relay these skills to her students not only through their speech, but through their writing.
Ms. Shin is excited to join the college admissions team at Mill Creek Academy where she can continue her love for supporting college bound students.
In her spare time, Ms. Shin enjoys good coffee, traveling, and loves all forms of art. She is passionate about encouraging students to reach their potential, helping them to live their lives with purpose.
