Ms. Yichiun Liu
With over 14 years of teaching experience, Ms. Liu currently teaches 5th grade in the New Haven Unified School District. Through the course of her teaching career, Ms. Liu has attended multiple training opportunities to enhance her instructional skills. Ms. Liu is equipped in teaching students how to master their literary techniques through her training with Just Think Literacy, Guided Language Acquisition Design, Comprehensive Early Literacy Learning, and Extended Literacy Learning.
At her school site, she has served as part of the Instructional Leadership team, representing the 5th grade team and working towards common goals to meet the school’s standards. She has also been involved with reviewing and discussing curriculum strategies to help students who need the extra academic support. Ms. Liu received her BA in Liberal Studies and a minor in Ethnic Studies at California State University, Hayward. There, she also earned her multiple subject teaching credential with a CLAD emphasis. Ms. Liu not only believes in academic rigor, but nurturing the child in all aspects of educational development.
While her passion for teaching consumes most of her daily schedule, Ms. Liu loves experimenting new recipes and scrapbooking when there is time off from her busy schedule. She also enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
