The Coalition Application – Part II
There is so much NEW information about the Coalition College Application that we decided to break up the information in two segments. Read The Coalition Application Part I, our previous blog post on this topic.
To continue with our information, here is what you and your student needs to know about the Coalition college application:
- Through the website, students create a customized digital portfolio where they can save and store their application and essays, along with organizational tools, such as checklists.
- In addition to the obligatory components of an admissions application, students will now have the opportunity to share additional information about themselves in their portfolios. For example, students can include extra essays, additional writing samples, and more details about their extracurricular involvements; students who are musicians or excel in performing arts can include a link to performance videos, and students who have strong artistic abilities can provide samples of their artwork.
- Anyone, such as a school counselor, can edit, coach, and provide feedback to students on their applications. Students can determine how much or how little information they want to share with prospective schools.
- The free online platform will be accessible to freshmen, sophomore, and juniors beginning in April 2016.
