Book Recommendations for Summer Vacation Part II
Continuing from last week’s post on Book Recommendations for Summer Vacation Part I, we know that the warm summer months signal a time when students have more freedom to explore, to travel, and to rest. Reading for leisure compared to the demanding months when school is in session can often rob students of the joy in reading. Despite the seemingly endless days of summer, the new school year is just around the corner. It is highly recommended, if not imperative, for students of all age groups to engage in independent reading as an exercise to maintain fluency and reading levels as they prepare for the next grade. Your child may even discover or re-ignite their love for reading when the pressure of school is on hold and more time is allotted in reading for pleasure.
