Mr. Calvin Fong
Growing up, Mr. Fong learned he had a passion for both education and teaching when working with youth at his local church. As he earned his B.A. in Media Studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and then a multiple subject teaching credential at California State University, East Bay, he continued to foster both passions as a middle school English and History teacher at a local private school in the Bay Area. However, after many years of teaching, Mr. Fong’s love for sports led him to pursue a different avenue in his career.
Currently, he has been writing and editing long-form and short-form video scripts about various sports stories for ClutchPoints, a sports media company. This unique opportunity has allowed him to mix his passion for sports with his love for writing and editing. Getting to see his work published on media platforms is his dream while getting to document athletic narratives to share with other sports enthusiasts.
When he’s not working, you can find him chasing his two boys around the house, or on the basketball court working on his free throws. Mr. Fong is an avid fan of Bay Area sports teams, and has loved the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, and Oakland A’s since he was young. He looks forward to working with rising Seniors through the college application process, potentially throwing some athletic puns in the mix of his student conversations.
