Mr. Wayne To
It was clear at a young age that Mr. To had an unrelenting interest in the Social Sciences. Two of Mr. To’s favorite gifts received as a child included a that he a comprehensive 300-page world atlas and a giant 500-page book on World War II. Hours were spent poring over locations of major cities and the narratives of major military campaigns. A passion developed and it was no surprise that Mr. To set out to make a career in history.
Mr. To graduated with a double major in US History and Political Science at UC San Diego. Upon returning to his hometown of Sacramento, he began teaching at Franklin High School in nearby Elk Grove and later completed a Masters degree in US History at CSU Sacramento. He has taught AP US Government and AP Comparative Politics for over a decade and is currently teaching AP World History and AP US History. Mr. To hopes to make history accessible and relevant to all students by teaching them relevant reading and writing skills through a wide variety of teaching styles and engaging lessons.
In his free time, Mr. To enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, rooting for his favorite sports teams (Giants, 49ers, Kings, Liverpool), keeping up with the latest PC technology, scoping out the latest deals, playing music at church, amateur woodworking, golfing, and pursuing his biggest passion, which means… doing more work.
