Ms. Christina Andrus
Ms. Andrus developed a passion for teaching many years ago when she first discovered the zest and excitement that comes from working with youth. Attending Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, there she completed her Bachelors of Liberal Arts in Social Studies Education. Having an interest in history, she continued to pursue her teaching Single Subject History credential in Oklahoma. Ms. Andrus’ teaching experience has always been with middle school students. While many teachers shy away from students in this adolescent stage, Ms. Andrus loves the spunky nature that junior high students have to offer. Teaching this age group the importance of history with a focused collaboration in writing are skill sets that Ms. Andrus believes will benefit students in their future careers.
Unlike many teachers who are exhausted from paper corrections, Ms. Andrus actually finds the rigor entertaining. Helping students identify areas of weaknesses and then allowing them an opportunity to revise their essays is a practice Ms. Andrus knows will help strengthen writing skills.
Sharing her talents with young minds is Ms. Andrus’ way of knowing she is helping each child unlock their potential. Ms. Andrus is excited to service the students at Mill Creek Academy and looks forward to supporting students and their writing progress. When Ms. Andrus is not correcting papers, she enjoys outdoor adventures with her husband and two dogs, as well as, appreciating all the natural beauty California has to offer.
