Ms. Elizabeth Cooper

Madame Cooper is thrilled to be teaching French at Mill Creek Academy! After having worked in technical marketing for a large telecommunications company supporting domestic and international businesses for many years in the Bay Area, she had the opportunity to start teaching French with Fremont Unified School District. She is passionate about the French-speaking world and believes that learning French opens doors to the world of exploration, human aid, literature and ideas that have influenced the world in which we live today. Expression of language and its ties to culture can help to make a well-rounded person interesting and successful, no matter what profession students choose.

Ms. Cooper completed a Master’s of Science-Secondary Education with a major in French from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a Bien Degré from the Université Paul Valéry, Montpellier, France, before entering the business world in California. She received a Master’s in Business Administration at Santa Clara University while working in business. Upon entering the teaching field, she completed a Master’s of Art in French from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. She has also received a Diplôme de français des affaires 1er degré avec la mention « Très Bien », Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris (CCIP), in 2002, and the Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française, République française, Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, in 2002. A great believer in continuing education to keep abreast of new teaching techniques in language acquisition, Ms. Cooper has participated in the State of California’s World Language Project and AP Workshops over the years. Recently, she received a grant from the French government to do an internship in 2014 on teaching methodologies at CAVILAM in Vichy, France.

Madame Cooper is very excited to bring her knowledge content and Francophonie cultural ties to the students at Mill Creek Academy!
