Ms. Hillary Truong
Ms. Truong is a proud Banana Slug, having graduated from UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Mathematics Education. Throughout her failures and triumphs at UC Santa Cruz, Ms. Truong found her own personal journey in learning math would be the impetus for how she could best help students understand and navigate the joy that comes from the world of math. She wanted to take her newfound love for math and share it with all students, those who struggled and those who accelerated.
Ms. Truong completed her credential in math at CSU East Bay and currently teaches Geometry and Trigonometry & Statistics at James Logan High School, her alma mater. She enjoys seeing her students progress through the year and helping them make connections between math and the real world. Ms. Truong is also currently working on obtaining her Master’s in Educational Technology. Her goal is to integrate technology into the classroom wherever possible and use it as a tool to teach concepts that might be otherwise difficult to demonstrate with pencil and paper. She is excited to have the opportunity to work at Mill Creek Academy and inspire young minds to evaluate, compute, and see the value math has in today’s society.
In her free time, Ms. Truong enjoys reading manga, playing video games, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
