Ms. Jillian Vu
Mrs. Vu is from the Central Valley of California and a proud graduate from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Women’s Studies. After her completion of college, she joined the Peace Corps and served two years as an English Teacher Trainer in Nicaragua. She became fluent in Spanish and although she already loved children, this is where she discovered her passion for teaching.
Upon her return from Nicaragua, she attended the University of California, Davis, where she received a multiple subject teaching credential, BCLAD (bilingual, cross-cultural, language and academic development) certificate, and a Master of Arts in Education.
Mrs. Vu currently teaches 4th grade in the Sunnyvale School District and has also worked in bilingual classrooms. She has also had the opportunity to work as a master teacher for the Sunnyvale School District-Stanford University Summer Program and as a fellow for Americorps/ TEAMS (Teacher Education for the Advancement of a Multicultural Society) Program.
Mrs. Vu is excited to be a part of the Mill Creek Academy faculty. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, hiking, reading, participating in Zumba, and spending time with her church.
