Ms. Kirsten Marie
Ms. Marie began her teaching career at Arizona State University where she graduated summa cum laude and obtained a Bachelor’s in English, teaching minor in French, and Master’s in Secondary Education, specialization English. She was then recruited by Fremont Unified School District to teach at Washington High School. Now in her 13th year with the district, Ms. Marie has taught English 11, 12 College Prep, Journalism, summer and adult education, and is currently the library information technology specialist at Washington. She is credentialed in English; Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD); Library Media; and a second Master’s in Library Information Science from San Jose State University. Her enthusiasm for reading, researching, and writing is so infectious that over 700 students a day flock to the WHS library, their second home. She has published several scholarly articles in the field of library science. When she’s not writing, Ms. Marie reads adolescent novels so she can recommend good books to her students.
